Design & Typography

Work I've done for classes I've taken and jobs I've had, a lot of which are heavily inspired by artistic movements such as Bauhaus and Swiss design. My goals, as a designer, are to marry concepts old and new, with an emphasis on texture, typography, and reader accessibility.

Asian Celluloid | Magazine Prospectus

During my sophomore year of college, I took a magazine design class that was offered as an elective during winter quarter. The entirety of the class was dedicated to students creating their own niche magazine prospectus, thus birthed the concept of Asian Celluloid.

Occam's Razor | Social Media Post

From 2023–2025, I worked for a student-led journal called Occam's Razor. This is a promotional graphic that I made for our Instagram account.

Bauhaus | Specimen Sheet

During my junior year of college, I took an "Intro to Visual Journalism" class where I was required to make a specimen sheet for an assignment. The typeface that I chose was Bauhaus, because at the time, I felt heavily inspired by the movement and Swiss design.

The Planet & Klipsun | Newsstand Poster

Klipsun was another student-led publication that I worked for, as a co-designer. This poster was made in collaboration between another student publication —called The Planet— and Klipsun.

Occam's Razor | Design Exercise

Before being hired as a lead designer for a student-led journal, Occam's Razor, I was required to do a design exercise demonstrating my ability to work with layouts. Our lovely E-i-C, Edme Guetschow, wrote the essay that was used in this layout.

The Front | Newsroom Sign

From my time working at The Front, a student-led newspaper, I worked as an illustrator. Despite this job title, I didn't want my work to stop at graphic art. I wanted to expand The Front's visual variety, therefore I designed this sign for our newsroom.
